About Dr. Powell

Cynthia Powell calls Houston home but she established her roots and her identity in Alabama where she developed a love of learning and teaching. Her education includes a BAT from Sam Houston State University, an MEd in Special Education from the University of Houston, an MS in Counseling Education from the University of Houston, Clear Lake, and a PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision from Sam Houston State University.

She began her teaching career as a special education teacher in Houston area public schools before establishing herself as a counselor.
