HGST Master’s Programs
The Master of Divinity (MDiv) is the basic professional degree for ordained ministry in the church and other ministerial leadership positions. Our MDiv degree is designed to encompass the breadth of traditions reflected in our students and staff while connecting those traditions to the historic Christian church and faith. The degree requires 75 credit hours.
Masters of Arts
The 67-hour Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) is a professional degree that prepares students to take the Texas Licensure Exam for the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Two other MAs, one in Spiritual Direction and one in Missional Leadership, are 37-hour degrees designed to prepare students for focused ministry.
The Master of Theological Studies (MTS) is an academic degree designed for those who want to continue to further graduate study or who desire a focused area of learning at the graduate level. HGST offers three concentrations in the MTS degree: biblical studies, theological studies, and Christian spirituality. The degree requires 40 credit hours.
