Becky Towne, DMin, HGST Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program and Associate Professor, has been selected as one of thirty-five participants from across Canada and the USA to attend the Association of Theological School’s three-day training, The 2014 Women Emerging in Leadership Development Conference. This event is designed for female administrators and faculty with significant administrative components to their jobs and is intended to further advance the professional development of women leaders in their administrative capacities in graduate theological education. Specific goals of the training include:
- To develop the professional skill set of women as administrative leaders in theological education.
- To offer educational programming targeted to their specific experience levels, with an emphasis on skill building for leadership in theological schools.
- To provide space for networking geared toward expanded thinking about the variety of roles and career paths women take in theological education.
HGST celebrates Dr. Towne’s selection into this select group of participants as recognition of her leadership skills and of the national recognition of the excellent work that the seminary is accomplishing.
HGST’s President, Dr. James Furr, says of Dr. Towne, “Becky has developed a first-class Doctor of Ministry program and inspires all of us with her passion for spiritual formation and commitment to excellence.”
