This summer, as part of the July doctoral seminar, Dr. Michael Emerson, committed follower of Christ and Rice University Professor of Sociology, will be with us on campus as instructor to DMin students. On Tuesday of that week, we invite our DMin alumni to attend his lecture entitled “Multiracial Congregations and God’s Work.” This event will take place on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, and will cost $100. Students and alumni attended our annual networking event entitled Next Level Networking: A Professional Day for Practicum, Internship, and Employment Partnerships on April 19, 2012. At this event, students and alumni met with representatives from potential practicum, internship, and employment sites and learned about opportunities for partnership and service. This year’s commencement ceremony was held on May 12, 2012 at New Faith Church located at 4315 West Fuqua Street, Houston, Texas. The ceremony began at 10:30AM. Graduates should contact Jocelyn Hudson with questions about regalia or pictures. Congratulations to all of our 2012 graduates!
HGST is currently searching for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Counseling. This is a full-time, resident faculty position beginning August 1, 2012. Minimum requirements are a PhD in the counseling field and a desire to teach graduate counseling students in a diverse, Christian environment. Faculty rank is commensurate to experience. HGST hosted a DMin informational luncheon on Friday, February 24th from 11:30am-1:00pm. Prospective students heard from our President, Dr. James Furr, and from the Director of the DMin program, Dr. Becky Towne.
