The VOICE ~ Dr. David Capes

“Do it again. This time…make it beautiful.” ~Dr. David Capes

http://www.hearthevoice.com/blog/86

I had the privilege recently of sharing about the Voice project at Houston Graduate School of Theology.  This school is doing great things in Houston to prepare men and women for lives of service to the church and the world.  The president, Dr. James Furr, understands the times and is leading HGST to become a key place in America where students can explore significant aspects of the missional movement.

The VOICE at HGST April 8

The VOICE Event at HGST

On Monday, April 8, 7:00-8:00 pm, HGST will be hosting a presentation concerning The Voice, a new translation from Thomas Nelson Publishers. Several faculty are currently using The Voice, and many students have found the translation to be helpful. Dr. Chuck Pitts and Dr. Peter Davids, professors at HGST, and Jack Wisdom, chairman of the HGST Board of Trustees, worked on the translation project.

This meeting will be led by Dr. David Capes, Thomas Nelson Professor at Houston Baptist University, and Frank Couch, editor from Thomas Nelson. They will be talking about the project and sharing some insights on the process of Bible translations. Some freebies will be included at the meeting. Hope to see you there.

2012-13 Chapel Services

This year, chapel services will occur twice a month, on different days of the week, and will alternate between day and evening chapels. You can download the 2012-13 chapel schedule here. We hope these changes will allow more of our students, friends, and alumni to attend chapel services over the course of the semester. Due to these changes, the meeting times for classes on Wednesday morning have been adjusted. Please check the course schedules page for updated course information.
