About Dr. Burton

Dr. Raumone V. Burton joined the faculty of Houston Graduate School of Theology as the Adjunct Professor of Preaching in 2009. He is also a Chaplain with Memorial Hermann Health System of Houston. Prior to that, he was the Senior Pastor of University Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Houston, and was the Pastor of Vermont Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Flint, Michigan. He is an Ordained Minister in Good Standing in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and has extensive experience in preaching in various settings. Dr. Burton earned bachelor’s degrees from Wichita State and Friends Universities in Wichita, Kansas, the Master of Divinity Degree from Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas, and the Doctor of Ministry degree from Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio. His Doctoral Dissertation was entitled, “Prophesy to These Bones: Preaching for Transformation.” He worships with Garden Grove Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Houston, and the Rev. Will L. Moore is his Pastor. His ministry is enhanced with the help of his wife, Ramona P. Burton, and two daughters: Kayla and Kaci.
