Admissions Requirements - Doctor of Professional Counseling
Students applying for the Doctor of Professional Counseling (DPC) degree must have earned a Master of Arts in Counseling degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Additionally, these applicants must have had three years of experience in the field after achieving the DPC. Following are the specific steps in applying to the DPC degree program:
Doctoral application - include application fee of $100 on or before the deadline and $150 after the deadline
Official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended sent directly to HGST from each institution
Request references - complete this form and the Admissions Office will send out requests for references
Copy of State licensure, with expiration date
Background check
Proof of liability insurance
A TOEFL score is required if English is not the student’s primary language (our institution code is 0017). Students must score at least 550 (written), 213 (computer-based), or 79 (internet-based).
