Directed by Dr. Marcus Cosby, DMin, MDiv

This exploration into the multi-dimensional art of homiletics will assist each student in developing a greater appreciation for the history and discipline of preaching. To be well versed in the comprehensive craft of preaching, each student will be exposed to lectures and discussions on The History and Theology of Preaching, The Genre and Practice of Preaching, The Preaching of Jesus, The Preaching of Paul, The Preaching of the Prophets, Transformational Preaching, Preaching in the Context of Worship and Prophetic Preaching, while simultaneously honing one’s own homiletic.

This specialization is intended to cultivate a greater appreciation for and appropriation of biblical preaching for the 21st Century church and culture. Coursework will examine how preaching relates to the ever-changing church and society.
